Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer (Gas Compressor)

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer to lead the design of gas compressor packages for a prestigious client in Oman. The role focuses on centrifugal compressor packages and requires extensive experience across rotating equipment design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, FEED and detailed design of centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, pumps, fans and related packages.
• Prepare material requisitions, equipment selection studies, datasheets, specifications and evaluate technical bids.
• Review vendor documents, inspection and test plans, and perform rotordynamic and torsional analyses.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, SIL/IPF, model reviews and coordinate with vendors, clients and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• 15+ years of engineering experience in rotating equipment for oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience with BP ETPs or Shell DEPs is preferred.

Required skills

• Design of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, pumps and fans.
• Knowledge of API standards (617, 614, 670, 671) and relevant international codes.
• Rotordynamic and torsional analysis, including review of vendor reports.
• FEED, conceptual and detailed design, HAZOP and SIL/IPF review.
