Senior Commercial Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Advisor to provide independent, senior‑level guidance to the Chief Executive Commercial on growth strategy, commercial opportunities, investment decisions and major transactions. The role leverages extensive upstream and commercial experience to ensure strategic fit, valuation accuracy, risk mitigation and execution readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Chief Executive Commercial on portfolio priorities, growth strategy and major investment decisions.
• Screen, prioritize and mature new business opportunities, assessing strategic fit, commercial viability and risk.
• Lead due diligence, financial modelling, valuation and market analysis for acquisitions, divestments, farm‑ins, farm‑outs and joint bids.
• Prepare investment papers, business cases and executive/Board presentation materials.
• Engage with government entities, partners, investors and industry stakeholders to support transaction negotiations.
• Review and challenge integrated technical, economic, commercial, legal, tax and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 14 + years of post‑qualification experience in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Proven experience in business development, investments, M&A, commercial decision‑making and portfolio management.
• Strong background in upstream exploration, development, production and investment evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership on high‑impact opportunities and negotiations.
