AI Engineer - Banking Domain

About the role

An urgent requirement for an AI Engineer in the banking domain has been identified for a banking client in Oman. The role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining AI and machine learning solutions that support the bank's digital transformation strategy, building intelligent applications, predictive models and automated processes while complying with governance, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions aligned with the bank's digital transformation and innovation strategy, and support its AI roadmap, standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to use AI, generative AI, machine learning and automation to improve business processes and customer experience.
• Work with business stakeholders to turn their challenges into AI-driven solutions and evaluate emerging technologies and trends.
• Build and optimise predictive models, recommendation engines, NLP, computer vision and generative AI applications, and develop data pipelines integrated with enterprise applications, APIs and cloud platforms.
• Monitor model performance, accuracy and reliability, and maintain documentation, model documentation and user guides.
• Work with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and IT teams to deploy AI solutions in production, troubleshoot applications and take part in proof-of-concepts and pilots.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, cybersecurity, responsible AI principles and regulatory requirements, including model monitoring, bias detection, explainability, version control and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
• 3-6 years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science or software engineering.
• Experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, predictive models and generative AI applications.
• Preferred: professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure AI, AWS Machine Learning, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, TensorFlow or equivalent.
