AI Product Owner - Banking Domain

About the role

An urgent requirement exists for an AI Product Owner in the banking domain for a banking client in Oman. The role defines, prioritizes and manages the bank's artificial intelligence product portfolio, bridging business and technology by turning strategic objectives into AI-enabled solutions. It works closely with business stakeholders, AI engineers, data scientists, technology teams and external partners, within the bank's digital transformation strategy, governance framework and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI product roadmap aligned with the bank's digital transformation strategy and business objectives.
• Identify opportunities for AI, generative AI, machine learning and automation to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Develop business cases, product vision, success metrics and value realization plans; engage stakeholders to prioritize AI initiatives.
• Manage the AI product lifecycle: requirements gathering, backlog management, testing, deployment and enhancements.
• Lead product discovery, user acceptance, deployment and post-implementation reviews; run sprint planning, backlog refinement and product demos.
• Coordinate pilots, proof of concepts and AI solution rollouts, and prepare reports for governance committees and senior management.
• Ensure AI products comply with governance, cybersecurity, data privacy and regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree in Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field is an advantage.
• 5-8 years of experience in Product Management, Digital Transformation, Business Analysis, AI Product Management or Technology Delivery.
• At least 2-3 years managing AI, machine learning, generative AI or data-driven digital products.
• Proven experience in Agile environments leading cross-functional teams; experience in banking or financial services with AI use cases is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMI-ACP or AI-related ones are highly desirable.
