Assistant Banquets Manager (Female Arabic-Speaking)

About the role

St. Regis in Muscat is looking for an Assistant Banquets Manager, female and Arabic-speaking, for an entry-level management position. The role assists in leading the banquet staff and personally helps execute events according to requirements and standards, while helping develop and direct the team toward consistent, high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and equipment maintenance, and maintain the attendance log for banquet employees.
• Maintain and enforce sanitation levels and uphold all standards, policies and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs).
• Order supplies such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props and other service equipment.
• Use banquet beverage "Use" records to help control liquor costs, manage the perpetual inventory and requisition liquor.
• Help schedule banquet service staff to meet forecasting and service standards while maximising profits.
• Attend meetings, lead shifts and take part in event service.
• Keep up with food and wine pairings and current cuisine trends.
• Set a positive example for guest relations, gather guest feedback, handle complaints and empower staff to deliver excellent service.
• Support new-hire orientation, give feedback on service behaviour, review comment cards and guest satisfaction results, and ensure staff follow emergency and safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage or a related field.
• Female and Arabic-speaking.
