Associate Director – Corporate Origination and Business Development

About the role

The Associate Director – Corporate Origination and Business Development will lead the acquisition of new corporate clients for Mashreq in Oman and across the bank’s regional footprint. The role combines client origination, relationship management and cross‑functional coordination to grow the bank’s balance sheet and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and originate new‑to‑bank corporate relationships, structuring financing solutions and onboarding clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with C‑suite executives, including CEOs and CFOs.
• Collaborate with credit risk, legal, treasury, operations and compliance teams to ensure proper transaction structuring and execution.
• Align corporate development and market‑penetration strategies with heads of corporate in each country.
• Ensure all transactions comply with Mashreq’s risk appetite, conducting due diligence and obtaining required approvals.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes to inform long‑term business strategy.
• Maintain up‑to‑date market knowledge to identify growth opportunities and optimise performance.
• Coordinate daily with internal stakeholders to deliver efficient client service in line with bank standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate banking or related financial services, preferably at a senior level.
• Deep understanding of regional market norms, regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.
• Strong network with senior decision‑makers in corporate clients.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex transactions.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
