Avionics Technician – F-16 Block 50

About the role

The Avionics Technician (F‑16 Block 50+) is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and testing electronic systems and components on advanced fighter aircraft. The role involves hands‑on work in a shop environment, ensuring avionics are operational and meet performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, test, and modify NAV Attack, Flight Controls Radar, SMS, Comm/Nav and ECM systems on F‑16 Block 50+ aircraft.
• Operate avionics using aircraft controls to assess system condition and isolate malfunctions.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and use electronic measurement equipment, AGE/GSE, and special tools for troubleshooting.
• Remove and install components, perform alignment calibration and bore‑sight of avionics systems.
• Upload operational software to system components and conduct inspections, analyses, and evaluations.
• Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and improve maintenance procedures.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, supervise work performed by junior technicians, and accept completed tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience with F‑16 Block 50+ avionics or 8 years supporting F‑16 aircraft.
• AFSC 2A3X4, 2A354, or 2A374 (or equivalent).
• High school diploma and ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials.
• U.S. citizenship required for facility access.
• Physical ability to lift parts up to 25 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally.
