Avionics Technician – F‑16 Block 50+

About the role

The Avionics Technician (F‑16 Block 50+) is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, testing, and modifying electronic systems and components on F‑16 aircraft. The role includes analysis, performance testing, and acceptance of instrumentation such as radar, GPS, telemetry, and area surveillance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, test, and modify NAV Attack, Flight Controls, Radar, SMS, Comm/Nav, and ECM systems on F‑16 Block 50+ aircraft.
• Operate avionics systems using aircraft controls to assess operational condition and isolate malfunctions.
• Use technical data, wiring diagrams, and electronic measurement equipment to remove and install components.
• Perform alignment calibration, bore‑sight, and upload operational software to system components.
• Inspect, analyze, and evaluate avionics systems, interpret findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, supervise work performed by technicians, and ensure compliance with maintenance publications.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience on F‑16 Block 50+ or 8 years supporting F‑16 aircraft.
• AFSC 2A3X4, 2A354, or 2A374 (or equivalent) with integrated avionics experience.
• High school diploma and ability to obtain/maintain facility credentials and US citizenship.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally, work in a shop environment, and stand for long periods.
