BCM Oversight Specialist

About the role

The Business Continuity Management (BCM) Oversight Specialist will provide independent oversight of the Central Bank of Oman's continuity framework, ensuring the organization can withstand and recover from disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and effectiveness of the BCM framework across the bank.
• Review and assess Business Continuity Plans to keep them current and aligned with objectives.
• Conduct independent reviews of Business Impact Analyses, risk assessments, and recovery strategies.
• Monitor compliance with BCM policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate and oversee continuity exercises, simulations, tabletop exercises, and recovery testing.
• Track corrective actions from exercises, audits, incidents, and lessons learned.
• Review third‑party and critical supplier continuity arrangements where applicable.
• Support crisis management planning and participate in crisis response when required.
• Prepare BCM reports, dashboards, and key metrics for senior management and governance committees.
• Collaborate with IT, Information Security, Risk Management, Facilities, HR, Compliance, and business units to strengthen resilience.
• Assist with regulatory examinations, internal audits, and external assessments related to business continuity.
• Promote BCM awareness through training, guidance, and communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency/Crisis Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in business continuity management, operational resilience, or related disciplines.
• Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, CISSP, or operational risk certifications are preferred.
