Bioeconomy Officer – ARISE Program (Oman)

About the role
The Bioeconomy Officer will provide technical and analytical support to the ARISE Program’s bioeconomy workstream in Salalah, Oman. This role contributes to the development and implementation of the bioeconomy strategy, helping to unlock nature‑based solutions and sustainable economic growth.
Key responsibilities
- Support the design and execution of the bioeconomy strategy and roadmap, including assessment of bioeconomy potential in Salalah.
- Identify priority value chains and develop bankable business models and investment cases.
- Collaborate with government agencies, private sector partners, and local communities to integrate bioeconomy initiatives across Sustainable Special Economic Zones and landscape‑restoration activities.
- Design pilot activities, engage financial partners, and assist in preparing investment proposals.
- Monitor programme budgets, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and produce high‑quality analytical reports.
Required profile
- University degree in environmental science, economics, agriculture, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in bioeconomy, sustainable development, or nature‑based solutions.
- Strong analytical abilities and experience working with government and private‑sector stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
