Card Compliance Officer

About the role

The Card Compliance Officer will ensure that all card‑related products, processes and operations fully comply with client scheme rules and local regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Card Services, the role also leads compliance projects to implement scheme updates, audit findings and regulatory changes while minimizing operational and financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Visa and CBO card scheme bulletins, assess business impact and drive implementation of rule changes.
• Act as the primary liaison with the client for compliance matters, audits and investigations.
• Manage responses to scheme audits, inquiries and compliance monitoring programmes.
• Lead cross‑functional compliance projects, develop plans, track progress and report status to management.
• Identify, assess and remediate compliance breaches, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support internal and external regulatory audits, inspections and examinations.
• Validate client fees, fines and penalties; investigate discrepancies and support cost optimisation.
• Prepare compliance dashboards, project updates and management reports.
• Deliver awareness sessions and training on card scheme and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Visa operating regulations.
• Working knowledge of Central Bank of Oman (CBO) regulatory requirements for payment cards.
• Proven experience managing compliance or payments projects.
