Carpenter – Maintenance & Guest Services

About the role

The Carpenter will support the hotel’s facilities team by responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and carrying out a wide range of carpentry and finishing tasks. This position combines hands‑on building work with guest‑service interaction in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair carpentry, drywall, and wood‑trim elements.
• Replace light bulbs, HVAC filters, and perform basic plumbing (toilet plunging, drain clearing).
• Carry out minor electrical work such as lamp, switch and outlet replacement.
• Operate shut‑off valves and follow lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to subsequent shifts.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.
• Use basic computer functions to input air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or willingness to learn across HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry disciplines.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb independently and heavier items with assistance.
• Professional appearance, clear communication skills, and commitment to safety policies.
• Team‑oriented attitude with the ability to support colleagues and respond to guest needs.
