CBT Welding Inspector – Third Party Inspection (TPI)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CBT‑qualified Welding Inspector with strong Third Party Inspection (TPI) background to support offshore structure fabrication at an on‑shore yard in Oman. The successful candidate will independently verify welding and fabrication activities, ensuring full compliance with client specifications, international codes and project quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent third‑party inspection of welding and fabrication activities on offshore structures such as jackets, topsides and modules.
• Witness and verify RT, UT, MT and PT activities and review NDT reports.
• Review WPS, PQR, inspection reports and material traceability documentation.
• Check fit‑up, welding parameters, weld quality and structural fabrication against approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify and report NCRs, follow up on corrective actions and prepare daily/weekly inspection reports for the client/TPI agency.
• Coordinate with contractor QA/QC teams, client representatives and project personnel.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of welding inspection experience with proven TPI exposure.
• Hands‑on experience in offshore structure fabrication in on‑shore yards (jackets, topsides, modules).
• CBT certification as required by the project/client.
• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS‑CWI (or equivalent) welding inspector certification – mandatory.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
