Chief Investment & Finance Officer

About the role

The Chief Investment & Finance Officer (CIFO) reports directly to the CEO and acts as the senior deputy on all investment and financial matters. The role blends strategic investment oversight with corporate finance leadership to drive shareholder value through disciplined capital allocation and robust financial stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long‑term investment strategy, aligning it with the board‑approved plan and monitoring market trends.
• Prepare quarterly investment reports covering performance, valuation, risk indicators, cash flow and ROI.
• Manage a pipeline of investment opportunities, lead up to three major strategic investments and oversee greenfield/brownfield projects.
• Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and implement recovery or divestment plans for under‑performing assets.
• Lead annual budgeting, long‑term financial planning, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis across the portfolio.
• Monitor cash flows, identify funding gaps and present financing strategies to the board.
• Ensure timely preparation of board reports, statutory financial statements and compliance with IFRS and corporate governance standards.
• Maintain effective internal controls and strengthen financial governance.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in investment management and corporate finance, preferably within a diversified portfolio.
• Proven track record of leading budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess market, industry and macro‑economic developments.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the capacity to act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board.
