Civil Inspector – Marine & Coastal Infrastructure

About the role

The Civil Inspector will supervise and inspect marine construction projects such as land reclamation, breakwaters, quay walls, jetties, and port developments across Oman. The role ensures all works comply with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities on marine and coastal infrastructure projects.
• Inspect works for compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Verify strict adherence to health, safety and environmental requirements on site.
• Document findings, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct material testing verification and review test results for acceptance.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide technical input.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, non‑conformances and remedial actions.

Required profile

• Omani national with a valid civil service or professional license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in marine and coastal infrastructure inspection.
• Hands‑on experience with land reclamation, breakwaters, quay walls, jetties and port developments.
• Strong knowledge of Omani construction codes, standards and maritime regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices.
• Effective communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across Oman.
