Commissioning Manager (FIFO) – Oman

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead testing, commissioning and hand‑over activities for a major project in Oman. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will ensure all commissioning work meets company, client, regulatory and contractual requirements while supporting a FIFO roster.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and manage all testing, commissioning, performance verification and operator training to achieve project hand‑over.
• Provide technical leadership to project staff, design consultants, subcontractors, vendors and the on‑site workforce.
• Define and drive the project’s testing & commissioning strategy and Management Plan.
• Review and approve testing & commissioning plans submitted by subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain commissioning documentation, schedules, templates and test procedures.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with ISO 9001 quality standards and are peer‑checked.
• Identify and communicate risks or changes to relevant stakeholders promptly.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to meet design criteria and project deliverables.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain up‑to‑date process knowledge.
• Travel to the site on a rostered FIFO basis and on an ad‑hoc basis as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑graduate experience in commissioning or related engineering roles.
• Extensive practical experience (15 + years) in large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a FIFO environment.
