Construction Lead – Mechanical/HVAC

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Lead – Mechanical/HVAC to manage the Mechanical/HVAC scope for a major Oil & Gas EPC project in Oman. The role involves coordinating with EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient and successful execution of fabrication and construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical/HVAC scope to achieve project objectives related to HSE, Quality, Schedule and Delivery.
• Manage and coordinate EPC Contractor activities throughout the fabrication and construction phases.
• Oversee the development and execution of mechanical plans for onshore and topsides fabrication activities.
• Ensure design constructability and compliance with project specifications, standards and applicable codes.
• Supervise Contractor/Subcontractor activities related to fabrication and Mechanical Completion.
• Monitor progress, quality and resource requirements and identify potential issues requiring corrective action.
• Review Contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues, delays and deviations.
• Coordinate with Contractors/Subcontractors on Mechanical Completion, Pre‑commissioning and Commissioning activities.
• Participate in risk assessments, pre‑job meetings, technical meetings and project coordination meetings.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant project execution experience in Mechanical/HVAC scope within an EPC environment in the Oil & Gas industry.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory/lead role, including oversight of service or vendor personnel.
• Experience with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, service companies or heavy construction organisations.
• Experience working within large‑scale Operations or Project organisations.
• Experience working with multinational teams (advantage).

• Large rotating gas compressor packages and turbine‑driven compressors.
• Gas turbine generator units.
• HVAC systems for offshore electrical and instrumentation rooms.
• Fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing and completion activities.
• Design standards, specifications, codes and safety requirements for major Oil & Gas projects.
• Execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG facilities.
