Construction Manager - Roads

About the role

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is looking for a Construction Manager (Roads) in Muscat. The role covers the day-to-day management of road construction works, ensuring quality, safety, schedule and resource needs are met in line with the project plan and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Keep copies of the PQP, procedures, work instructions and QC plans available at site and ensure strict compliance with them.
• Assess manpower, equipment and other resources needed to meet milestone and target dates, and report to the Project Director.
• Coordinate with subordinate staff and carry out work according to planned schedules, specifications and the PQP.
• Ensure daily HSE requirements are fulfilled at site.
• Make sure manpower, equipment, materials and consumables are available on time, and coordinate their deployment with the Project Director.
• Provide approved drawings, schedules and technical data to the construction team and subcontractors.
• Work with the procurement team on project procurement.
• Track actual progress against the planned programme with the Planning Engineer, and analyse deviations or changes to the contract scope, discussing them with the Project Director and rescheduling where needed.
• Follow up approvals of materials and shop drawings with the Customer / Consultant.
• Coordinate with the QC Inspector on quality management system and inspection test requirements, and ensure CARs/NCRs are disposed of promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in the construction of roads and highways.
