Contract Specialist – Human Rights & Contractor Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a Contract Specialist focused on human rights and contractor compliance. The role ensures that contractors meet contractual obligations, local labour legislation and international human‑rights standards, protecting worker welfare across our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess contractor compliance with contractual requirements, applicable legislation and human‑rights standards.
• Interpret contract clauses and monitor contractor performance against compliance obligations.
• Identify gaps, non‑conformities and risks, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance registers, trackers and supporting evidence.
• Engage with contractors to resolve issues and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, HR, Sustainability and HSE teams on compliance matters.
• Verify compliance related to employment practices, wages, working hours, accommodation, non‑discrimination, freedom of movement and prevention of forced labour, modern slavery and child labour.
• Participate in audits, inspections and worker‑engagement activities.
• Prepare compliance reports, management updates and contractor correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Sustainability or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in contract administration, contractor compliance, labour compliance, human‑rights or worker‑welfare roles.
• Experience in construction, mining, industrial or infrastructure projects is preferred.
