Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Oman Fiber Optic (OFO) is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its Security Operations Center (SOC). The successful candidate will monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, conduct threat hunting, and support vulnerability assessments for a leading fiber‑optic infrastructure provider.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and incidents in the SOC using SIEM tools.
• Perform log analysis, threat hunting, and incident response activities.
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure network and system configurations.
• Assist in developing, updating, and enforcing security policies aligned with ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in cyber security, preferably in SOC operations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standards.

Required skills

• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Proficiency in using SIEM platforms and performing log analysis.
• Knowledge of network monitoring, incident response, and threat hunting techniques.
• Understanding of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing processes.
