Electrical Engineer – Design Reviewer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to act as a Design Reviewer, overseeing the erection of electrical installations and distribution networks on large‑scale projects. The role requires full‑time on‑site presence to ensure compliance with contract specifications and design standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee erection of electrical installations, distribution networks and related works, ensuring strict conformance with contract and technical specifications.
• Maintain a full‑time on‑site presence, coordinating with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Collaborate with project teams to verify that work is completed on schedule, within budget and to required technical standards.
• Monitor material and workmanship quality through impartial testing and inspection of cables, lighting and other electrical fixtures.
• Attend contractor inspection requests, issue go‑ahead approvals or generate non‑compliance reports.
• Support defect rectification during the liability period to ensure all issues are resolved.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years directly related to erection of electrical installations and distribution networks.
• Experience on at least two similar projects in a design‑review or oversight capacity.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Preference for candidates currently employed full‑time by a consultancy with at least 2 years tenure.
