Electrical Inspector

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to lead inspection activities on low‑voltage (LV) networks, street lighting, pumping stations, traffic signals and related infrastructure. The role involves ensuring all work complies with contract specifications, statutory regulations and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct electrical and mechanical tests on installed systems.
• Perform destructive and nondestructive testing (magnaflex, dye penetrant, radiographic, tension/compression, paint thickness, resistivity).
• Survey underground piping for tightness, bedding and grade, and validate P&ID and hydraulic pressure tests.
• Inspect electrical installations for proper grounding, circuit integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor painting and insulation quality to ensure required thickness and coverage.
• Verify equipment alignment, balancing operations and overall workmanship of construction and subcontracted tasks.
• Assist in preparing quality‑control and safety reports, and may administer welder qualification tests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or at least a 3‑year diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience with LV networks, street lighting, traffic signals, pumping/lifting stations, storm‑water or sewerage projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with project teams.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and construction specifications.
