Site EHS Officer – Oman

About the role

The Site EHS Officer will be the primary point of contact for health, safety and environmental matters on Siemens Mobility’s railway project in Oman. You will ensure compliance with Siemens EHS principles, local and international regulations, and support the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections, identify risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance, prepare detailed EHS reports and performance metrics.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, perform root‑cause analysis and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor EHS performance, review Safe Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Permit‑to‑Work documentation.
• Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, site inductions and emergency response drills.
• Support the Project and EHS Managers in obtaining permits, authorisations and regulatory notifications.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil or related).
• Omani nationality.
• 3‑5 years of HSE experience in construction, infrastructure or railway projects.
• NEBOSH IGC (Merit) and IOSH Managing Safely certifications.
• Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Valid Oman/GCC driving licence and First Aid certification.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) systems for installation activities.
• Incident investigation, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action planning.
• EHS risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
