Engineering Lead

About the role

The Engineering Lead will head the front‑end design of water and wastewater treatment facilities for Gradiant in Muscat. This senior position drives technical excellence, ensures compliance with industry standards, and delivers sustainable, cost‑effective solutions for critical industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead front‑end engineering design, basic design and detailed engineering of Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Zero‑Liquid‑Discharge (ZLD) thermal systems and Produced Water Treatment Packages.
• Perform and review equipment sizing, hydraulic flow and pressure‑drop analysis, and load calculations for foundations and support structures.
• Manage engineering milestones, deliverables and interface coordination with clients, contractors and vendors.
• Develop, review and approve technical specifications, RFQs, datasheets and detailed design documents including general arrangement, piping, isometrics and fabrication drawings.
• Validate civil layout, foundation designs and structural load calculations, ensuring integration with mechanical components.
• Participate in risk assessments such as HAZOP, SIL studies, 3D model reviews and value‑engineering workshops.
• Provide technical support during site installation, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Lead, mentor and review the work of process engineers, design engineers and discipline leads, acting as the primary engineering interface with clients, authorities and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in water or wastewater projects.
• Strong ability to communicate technical information to clients, contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Proactive approach to sustainable and cost‑efficient engineering solutions.
• Hands‑on involvement in vendor evaluation, component selection and cost estimation.
