Field Operator Internship – Process Plant Support

About the role

This internship supports the safe and efficient operation of a process plant. You will work under supervision to monitor equipment, assist with start‑ups and shutdowns, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record equipment parameters in the field, reporting any abnormalities to the Control Room Operator or supervisors.
• Assist with pressurising and depressurising equipment and pipelines as directed.
• Perform routine operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision.
• Support system start‑ups and shutdowns, and help prepare equipment for maintenance, including isolation and decontamination.
• Maintain accurate handover information for the next shift and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes, PFDs, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
• Basic understanding of maintenance management systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Good English communication skills; Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of plant PFDs and P&IDs.
• Basic use of maintenance management software.
