Finance & Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our growing online marketplace and e‑commerce business. This full‑time position is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the company through accurate reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory management.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit‑card accounts on a regular basis.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash‑flow) and performance reports.
• Stay current with Omani tax laws and ensure compliance for both marketplace and e‑commerce operations.
• Collaborate with management to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
• Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks and Zoho Books to automate processes.
• Work with the sales team to ensure timely collection of invoices and receivables.
• Analyse competitor pricing and industry trends to support pricing strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in online or e‑commerce businesses.
• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books or similar).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of Omani tax laws and accounting regulations; prior experience in a tax or accounting firm is a plus.
