Finance Principal – Strategic Finance Leader

About the role

The Finance Principal is a senior finance leader responsible for embedding financial discipline, governance and risk management across the organisation. Reporting to the CFO, this role provides independent oversight, supports executive decision‑making and drives sustainable value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial governance, internal controls, risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Evaluate and oversee complex commercial agreements, pricing structures and contractual risk exposures.
• Act as a strategic finance partner to the CFO, CEO and Board, delivering insights and challenge.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, including reporting excellence, process optimisation, ERP implementation and performance management.
• Lead, develop and mentor high‑performing finance teams.
• Manage relationships with shareholders, regulators, auditors, government entities and executive stakeholders.
• Oversee treasury, liquidity, funding and cash‑flow management.
• Implement enterprise risk management, hedging and FX/interest‑rate risk strategies.
• Produce advanced financial models, valuations and commercial analyses.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Develop KPIs and use data‑driven decision‑making to enhance performance.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification preferred (ACCA, CPA or CFA).
• 10‑15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or commodity‑based sectors is highly preferred.
