Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor – Hypermarket

About the role

The Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor leads the produce department in a hypermarket, ensuring high standards of quality, freshness and customer service while meeting sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the fruits and vegetables section, maintaining freshness, quality and product availability.
• Monitor assortment, pricing and promotional activities to drive sales performance.
• Control inventory levels, stock replenishment and delivery schedules to minimise out‑of‑stock situations.
• Reduce waste and shrinkage through effective stock rotation, handling procedures and quality checks.
• Identify slow‑moving items and implement promotional actions to maximise sell‑through before spoilage.
• Maintain merchandising standards, planograms and pricing accuracy.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene and food‑handling standards while keeping the department clean.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve operational and sales objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a fruits and vegetables department or retail supermarket environment.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce quality standards, stock rotation and freshness management.
• Experience in inventory control, waste reduction and merchandising best practices.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and customer‑service abilities with a results‑driven approach.
