Head of Business Development & Research

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Development & Research to lead our investment strategy in Muscat, Oman. The role will shape the organisation’s growth by directing business development, conducting rigorous investment research, and overseeing portfolio performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Business Development & Research strategy.
• Lead investment research, financial modelling and equity valuation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and advise senior leadership on strategic actions.
• Identify and evaluate new business and investment opportunities.
• Prepare executive reports, presentations and investment recommendations.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop a team of investment and research professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field (Master’s/MBA advantageous).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, private equity, sovereign wealth funds or asset management.
• Proven track record leading business development, research and portfolio management functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess investment opportunities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Fluent English; Arabic a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with Bloomberg or comparable financial data platforms.
