Head of Financial Reporting

About the role

The Head of Financial Reporting will lead the Financial Reporting Department at OAB, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements. This senior position works closely with the CFO, COO, and executive team to provide critical insights for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all financial reporting activities, ensuring adherence to bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and agreed timelines.
• Design and implement new systems, tools, and software to improve departmental efficiency.
• Develop and maintain the chart of accounts, enforce SOX controls, and oversee VAT implementation.
• Coordinate IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16 reporting and ensure compliance with international standards.
• Act as business analyst for the team, addressing external auditor and CBO queries promptly.
• Support the CFO, DCFO, and senior management on special projects, capital adequacy reviews, and tax assessments.
• Lead training and development initiatives to enhance team performance and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Establish policies and procedures related to insurance, cyber risk, and other operational areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CFAB, or equivalent accounting certification (mandatory).
• Islamic accounting certification and MBA are advantageous.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
