Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer

About the role

A qualified and experienced HSE Engineer is sought to support a brownfield expansion project in Sohar, Oman. This is a full-time, long-term assignment in a safety-focused industrial setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee HSE engineering functions and implement advanced safety strategies.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments in line with client and regulatory standards.
• Develop HSE procedures, reports and compliance tracking tools.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote a strong HSE culture among project stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting in line with client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Environmental, Safety or Chemical), mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years of total experience, including at least 5 years of relevant HSE experience.
• NEBOSH IGC certification, mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of industrial HSE standards and regulations.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
