UT Technician - Oil & Gas Fabrication Project, Sohar

About the role

An urgent oil and gas project at a fabrication yard in Sohar, Oman is looking for experienced UT Technicians. This is a long-term opportunity with an initial contract of 3 years, extendable, and candidates available for immediate or short-notice mobilization are strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections on oil and gas offshore structures and piping
• Inspect butt welds and T/K/Y joints
• Independently cross-check and verify UT examination results

Required profile

• Valid PCN UT certifications (3.1, 3.2, 3.8 and 3.9)
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in ultrasonic testing
• Proven experience inspecting butt welds and T/K/Y joints
• Experience in major fabrication yards, offshore construction projects or oil and gas fabrication facilities
• Basic English communication
• Open to all nationalities

Required skills

• Strong knowledge and practical experience of API RP 2X
• Hands-on UT inspection of oil and gas offshore structures and piping

Preferred: QatarEnergy or Aramco UT qualification card, TKY joint inspection qualification, and previous experience with major oil and gas fabrication yards.
