Maintenance Technician – Cryogenic & Air Gas Pumps

About the role

A leading industrial gas company based in Sohar is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to look after its industrial gas and cryogenic pump systems. The role covers upkeep, troubleshooting and repair of the pumps, and calls for strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment and a strict commitment to safety with hazardous gases.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance on air gas cryogenic pumps, including ACD and Indian compressor pumps.
• Read and interpret pump drawings, schematics and manufacturer manuals to diagnose and fix mechanical problems.
• Plan and carry out nitrogen (N2) purging jobs on site safely and efficiently.
• Install and fit stainless steel tubing precisely.
• Keep the spare parts inventory up to date so equipment stays running.
• Handle inert, oxidizing and flammable gases safely in line with industrial safety standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical certification.
• Proven hands-on experience maintaining cryogenic pumps such as ACD or Indian compressor pumps.
• Strong knowledge of the properties and hazards of inert, oxidizing and flammable gases.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a safety-first approach.
• Candidates living in Oman with a transferable visa are highly preferred.
