HSE Officer – Safety & Environment Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HSE Officer to lead health, safety and environmental activities across our construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with local regulations, promote a strong safety culture, and proactively mitigate risks to protect people, assets and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date HSE records, forms and files in line with the Project HSE Plan and audit requirements.
• Conduct employee safety inductions, visitor/supplier inductions and regular toolbox talks, keeping accurate training records.
• Prevent unsafe acts, stop work under hazardous conditions and ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel, including subcontractors.
• Oversee site welfare facilities (rest areas, water, toilets) and ensure high hygiene standards.
• Identify, assess and control operational HSE risks, and implement measures to avoid environmental impacts.
• Investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in engineering, environmental science, occupational health & safety or related field.
• Professional HSE certification – NEBOSH IGC (mandatory).
• 2‑3 years of HSE experience, preferably in construction or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Good knowledge of Oman Labour Law, local HSE regulations and client standards.
• Strong documentation, reporting and audit skills.
• Valid Oman driving licence; English fluency required, Hindi/Urdu a plus.
