Junior HR Business Partner – Retail

About the role

The Junior HR Business Partner will support the day‑to‑day HR operations of an IKEA store in Oman, acting as a strategic partner to the Store Manager and the wider store leadership team. Reporting to the GM‑HR IKEA, the role translates the IKEA People Strategy into store‑specific actions that drive performance, culture and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the IKEA People Strategy into a store‑specific strategy aligned with Al‑Futtaim Retail People strategy.
• Design and recommend an optimal organisational structure in collaboration with store leadership.
• Own manpower cost and budget planning, ensuring efficient use of approved budgets.
• Lead annual manpower budgeting and ensure accurate execution.
• Foster a values‑driven culture through recruitment, development and promotion based on IKEA values.
• Partner with store leaders to identify talent needs and develop recruitment strategies.
• Manage internal and external recruitment processes, ensuring selection aligns with values and culture fit.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, grievances and conflict resolution.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to managers on people‑related issues.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, local labour laws, DOA and internal controls.
• Handle employee‑relations cases in line with local legislation and group policies.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience.
• Early‑career professional with a strong interest in retail HR.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with store leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset for budgeting and workforce planning.
• Knowledge of Omani labour legislation and HR best practices is a plus.
