Legal Finance and Debt Management Expert

About the role

The Legal Finance and Debt Management Expert will lead OIA’s legal team in overseeing finance and debt matters across the organization and its affiliates. This senior position provides strategic legal advice, negotiates complex transactions, and ensures compliance with Omani and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the legal team’s strategy, aligning it with OIA’s broader objectives.
• Recruit, develop, and manage legal staff, ensuring high performance and succession planning.
• Oversee daily legal operations, budgeting, and cost control for finance and debt management activities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, including finance, investment, joint‑venture, and outsourcing contracts.
• Coordinate external counsel, manage legal costs, and act as the primary liaison for debt‑related matters.
• Advise the Ministry’s Debt Management Office on government debt issues.
• Monitor legal developments in Oman and relevant jurisdictions, providing updates to senior management.
• Maintain a secure filing system for all legal agreements and documents.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in finance, debt, and corporate law.
• Proven leadership experience managing a legal team.
• Strong understanding of Omani legal framework, Royal Decrees, and international finance regulations.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
