Legal Manager – Lead Legal Department

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Manager to lead our Legal Department, providing proactive, business‑oriented legal advice and ensuring compliance across the organization. The role reports to the General Counsel and works closely with senior management and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Legal Department, optimizing resources and delivering high‑quality legal services aligned with business priorities.
• Provide practical legal advice to management and business units, escalating high‑risk matters to the General Counsel.
• Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, manage external counsel, monitor case progress, control costs, and drive effective outcomes.
• Direct drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts to ensure enforceability and minimize risk.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Support corporate governance frameworks, uphold ethics, transparency, and accountability.
• Develop, review, and enforce legal policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, external counsel, and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team, including performance management and succession planning.
• Conduct legal training and awareness programs for employees.
• Monitor delivery of legal services to meet timelines, accuracy, and business alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Proven ability to lead a legal team and manage complex legal matters.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and dispute resolution.
