Manager, Litigation and Legal Studies

About the role

Omantel is looking for a Manager, Litigation and Legal Studies within its Governance, Regulatory & Compliance division, based in Muscat. The role oversees and, when required, acts as Omantel's representative in legal proceedings before courts and judicial bodies, protecting and defending Omantel's interests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Omantel's submissions for courts and judicial bodies
• Prepare legal documents and maintain good record-keeping and filing of legal documents
• Review all submissions before courts or other adjudicating bodies
• Appear before courts, government agencies or other adjudicating bodies in complex, significant or specialised proceedings
• Monitor legislative changes and ensure their impact is understood and controlled so that compliance is assured
• Liaise with SM Employee Experience to resolve disciplinary and grievance matters
• Compile local laws and regulations and handle related assignments as required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Internal applicants: 4 years of relevant experience; external applicants: 6 years of relevant experience
• Line manager: Senior Manager Legal Affairs
