Material Handling Engineer (Port / Bulk Terminal)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Material Handling Engineer to lead the design, integration and optimisation of material handling systems for a new bulk terminal in Oman. The role involves ensuring that conveyors, loading equipment and related mechanical works operate seamlessly within the overall port logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Control and approve all design aspects of the material handling system.
• Oversee fabrication, pre‑shipment testing, transport, on‑site erection and performance testing of conveyors, bulk handling equipment and steel structures.
• Coordinate mechanical works and ensure compliance with contract specifications and approved detailed designs.
• Integrate material handling solutions with overall port operations to achieve optimal efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of total engineering experience, including at least 6 years in material handling system design.
• Proven experience on at least two similar port construction projects.
• Preferably employed full‑time by a consulting firm for at least two years.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
