Network Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Network Support Engineer to join a Ministry‑based project in Muscat on a contractual basis. The role involves maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the organisation’s LAN, WAN and Wi‑Fi infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure network operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN and Wi‑Fi networks.
• Provide basic IT support and resolve connectivity issues.
• Configure, install and troubleshoot routers, switches and firewalls.
• Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades and security compliance checks.
• Document network configurations, incidents and changes.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT/network support.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• LAN, WAN and Wi‑Fi networking.
• Router, switch and firewall configuration.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLAN concepts.
• Network troubleshooting and hardware handling.
• Knowledge of network security practices.
• Certifications such as CCNA or CEH (preferred).
