Nursing Assistant / Healthcare Assistant

About the role

The Nursing Assistant / Healthcare Assistant will work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, compassionate, and high‑quality patient care in an Omani healthcare facility. The role focuses on supporting patients with daily activities, monitoring basic needs, and assisting the clinical team in routine procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nurses and healthcare professionals with day‑to‑day patient care.
• Support patients with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
• Monitor and report any changes in patients' condition, behaviour, comfort, or wellbeing.
• Take and record basic patient observations as directed by qualified nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Help with patient positioning, transfers, mobility, and transportation within the facility.
• Support nurses during routine procedures and clinical activities.
• Ensure patients' comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety at all times.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of patient‑care equipment and supplies.
• Assist with documentation and reporting of patient‑care activities.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Nursing Assistance, Healthcare Assistance, Patient Care, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as a Nursing Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, or similar role is preferred.
• Successful completion of the Oman MOH Viva Examination and compliance with MOH licensing requirements.
• Good knowledge of basic patient care, hygiene, infection control, and healthcare safety practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
