Offshore Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Offshore Maintenance Technician will carry out routine and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems aboard an offshore platform in Musandam, Oman. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation assets in line with OQEP procedures and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, piping, electrical and instrumentation systems according to approved schedules.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot and repair equipment, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Execute work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and complete accurate documentation.
• Support planned shutdowns, turnarounds and equipment overhauls, ensuring safety and schedule adherence.
• Conduct routine inspections, report abnormalities and assist with installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain tools, spare parts and calibration records in line with asset management procedures.
• Participate in permit‑to‑work processes, risk assessments and emergency response activities.

Required profile

• Relevant technical training or certification in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation maintenance.
• Experience working in offshore or high‑hazard environments, with a strong focus on safety.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and maintenance procedures.
• Good communication skills to report findings and coordinate with supervisors and other teams.
