Operation Theatre Scrub Nurse – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Operation Theatre Scrub Nurse to join our modern, multispecialty private hospital in Muscat. This full‑time, on‑site position provides professional nursing support throughout surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and surgical supplies prior to procedures.
• Verify and organize equipment, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Assist surgeons directly, handling instruments and materials during operations.
• Conduct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Document procedures accurately and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
• Participate in continuous professional development and flexible shift work as required.

Required profile

• Relevant nursing qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree) with current registration or eligibility for registration in Oman.
• Proven experience as a Scrub Nurse or operating theatre nurse, preferably in a multispecialty or surgical‑focused hospital.
• Strong knowledge of peri‑operative nursing practices, sterile techniques and infection control standards.
• Excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to manage time, priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in handling surgical instruments and preparing OT equipment.
• Familiarity with peri‑operative documentation and instrument count procedures.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
