Ovation DCS Site Engineer

About the role

The company seeks an Ovation Engineer with hands‑on experience in Emerson Ovation DCS to perform preventive maintenance, health checks and troubleshooting at customer sites across Oman.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance of Emerson Ovation DCS components (controllers, workstations, servers, network and power supplies) according to the PM plan.
• Perform system health checks, diagnostics, backups and generate PM reports.
• Troubleshoot Ovation controllers, modules, workstations and network issues on‑site.
• Execute minor logic, graphics and database modifications using Ovation Developer Studio under PTW and MOC.
• Support third‑party communication checks (Modbus, Profibus, OPC) and system upgrades, commissioning and SAT activities.
• Prepare findings and recommendations for clients and coordinate with client operations while following HSE procedures.
• Assist OT cybersecurity tasks such as patching, antivirus updates, backups and user management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of DCS experience with mandatory hands‑on Emerson Ovation exposure.
• Minimum 2 years of on‑site Ovation preventive maintenance and support.
• Commissioning experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Emerson Ovation DCS hardware and software (controllers, Developer Studio, Operator Station).
• Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS equipment.
• Knowledge of Ovation network architecture, redundancy and third‑party protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC).
• Basic understanding of instrumentation, control loops and interlocks.
• Familiarity with OT cybersecurity and virtualization concepts.
