Principal Materials / Corrosion Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a senior Principal Materials and Corrosion Engineer to lead materials selection and corrosion management strategies for oil & gas projects across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HSSE leadership and promote a safety‑first culture throughout project delivery.
• Develop and implement materials selection, corrosion mitigation programs and asset integrity strategies for complex operating conditions.
• Lead technical reviews of designs, specifications and deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, conduct failure analyses, risk assessments and lifecycle studies.
• Coordinate corrosion monitoring, inspection programs and support technical audits and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of oil & gas experience and at least 15 years in engineering design (Concept, FEED, EPCM, Detailed Design, Operations).
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on large‑scale projects, preferably in the Middle East.
• Professional membership with an international engineering institution.

• Corrosion control techniques including coatings, cathodic protection and chemical treatment programs.
• Inspection technologies and corrosion monitoring systems.
