Port Design and Marine Team Lead

About the role

The Port Design and Marine Team Lead will head the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, acting as the primary liaison with the client and ensuring seamless delivery of complex port and marine projects. This senior position requires strategic oversight of multidisciplinary activities, from design to construction and procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the PMC team, serving as the main interface with the client.
• Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary teams delivering port infrastructure, on‑shore construction, mechanical equipment, and mine development.
• Oversee Resident Engineer and discipline engineers, ensuring effective day‑to‑day site supervision.
• Review and validate design submissions, technical reports, method statements, and progress reports.
• Ensure proper coordination across all project packages and monitor construction progress to align schedules and interfaces.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies for critical equipment in collaboration with the Procurement Specialist.
• Guarantee compliance with contractual obligations, technical standards, and project specifications.
• Lead progress review meetings with the client and provide executive‑level reporting.
• Maintain a minimum one‑week per month site presence and provide remote support between visits.

Required profile

• At least 20 years of cumulative experience in civil engineering.
• Minimum 10 years focused on design of port and marine structures for on‑site construction.
• Proven leadership on at least two port construction projects with budgets of USD 1 million or more.
• Preferably five years of continuous employment with a consultancy.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
