Predictive Maintenance Manager

About the role

OQ is hiring a Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Manager in Salalah, Oman, within the Technical Services department. The manager leads and coordinates PdM work, supervises the designated team and acts as the technical service provider for PdM and minor projects and modifications, keeping rotating equipment reliable and available. The role reports to the Head of Technical Services.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and implement a PdM management system and best practice focused on improving reliability of rotating services
• Lead the PdM strategy needed to keep mechanical equipment operating safely and efficiently
• Organize and deliver technical training to improve PdM skills
• Attend daily meetings and coordinate with Operations, Technical Services, Planning, HSE and other departments
• Analyse reliability reports and equipment performance data (from SAP) and recommend improvements to maintenance strategies
• Review, comment on and approve maintenance procedures, inspection frequencies and contractor performance
• Lead the development of predictive maintenance techniques, condition monitoring and lifecycle management plans, including cost and schedule estimates for capital and maintenance projects
• Evaluate the PdM team's performance and help set key performance indicators
• Develop training programmes and task books for young engineers and create backup plans for on-call and emergency work

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years in refinery and petrochemical plant maintenance, including 4 years in a similar role
• Operations or process engineer experience in oil and gas, preferably with predictive maintenance experience
• Excellent written, spoken and reading English; native Arabic desirable

Required skills

• Predictive maintenance and condition monitoring of rotating equipment
• SAP PM and CMMS
• Vibration analysis (Level II certified), root cause analysis and HAZOP
• Knowledge of steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, fans and blowers, dry and mechanical seals
• QA/QC, ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and HSE awareness
• Office software and SAP
