Project Director – Marine Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead marine construction projects across the UAE. The role involves full‑cycle project delivery, from planning and budgeting to on‑site supervision, ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and work programs for marine works.
• Prepare and control project budgets, cash flow, and cost reporting; monitor variations, claims and change orders.
• Supervise on‑site marine activities such as dredging, piling, quay walls, breakwaters and other marine structures.
• Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Act as primary liaison with clients, consultants, authorities and subcontractors; lead progress meetings and provide regular updates.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment and marine resources; manage subcontractor performance and payments.
• Prepare progress, cost and risk reports for senior management; identify and mitigate project risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure or building construction, with proven leadership of large‑scale marine projects in the GCC.
• MBA and PMP certification are preferred.

Required skills

• Marine construction techniques: dredging, piling, quay walls, breakwaters, coastal structures.
• In‑depth knowledge of FIDIC contract administration and UAE construction regulations.
• Project controls, budgeting and cost‑control expertise.
