Project Director – Marine Projects (Oman)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead large‑scale marine construction projects across Oman. The role oversees end‑to‑end delivery, from planning and budgeting to on‑site supervision, ensuring compliance with contractual, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules and work programs for marine works such as dredging, piling, quay walls, breakwaters and other coastal structures.
• Prepare, monitor and control project budgets, cash flow, variations, claims and change orders.
• Supervise site activities, ensuring construction complies with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental (HSQE) standards and marine safety regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact with clients, consultants, authorities and subcontractors; lead progress meetings and provide regular updates.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment and marine resources; manage subcontractor performance and payments.
• Prepare progress, cost and risk reports for senior management and implement mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure or building construction, with proven leadership of large‑scale marine projects in Oman or the GCC.
• MBA and PMP certification are preferred.

• Marine construction techniques (dredging, piling, quay walls, breakwaters, coastal structures).
• FIDIC contract administration and UAE/GCC construction regulations.
• Project planning, scheduling and controls.
• Cost control, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
