Project Engineer – Electrical Extensions

About the role

WSP is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the execution of 11kV/Low Tension (LT) electrical extension projects. You will oversee distribution substation construction, overhead and underground line works, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all distribution substation construction activities and overhead/underground line works.
• Review and approve contractor construction programmes and coordinate with civil engineers.
• Provide technical assistance to contractors, issue instructions, and monitor execution against tender specifications.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress, technical, and financial reports.
• Review contractor change‑request claims and submit related reports.
• Attend progress meetings, identify issues, and propose scope, time, or quality adjustments.
• Conduct site and factory inspections during manufacturing, erection, testing, and commissioning, and ensure punch‑list closure.
• Handle project documentation, drawing submittals, energisation clearance, as‑built approvals, and lesson‑learned reports.
• Analyse contractor invoices, certify payments, and produce performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional engineering licence preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
• Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
